General Discussion / Re: The dreamy thread
Last post by Blex - May 26, 2025, 05:59 AM
So very often when I have to get somewhere early in the morning, I have dreams the night before where I struggle to get to any particular place I wanna go to, like a city or a store

So the dream started off at my house, and I remember preparing to take the train to somewhere I needed to go, and a friend was going with me

It was originally a train they wanted to take to get to where *they* wanted to go, but I understood that I could sit with and hop off near my stop

But when I sat on that train, and more time passed, I realized that the train didn't take me where I needed to go, and I'd be late

Eventually, the train stopped at my friend's destination, and I scrambled out to get another train or bus or something, but there was nothing

At this point, I became somewhat lucid, aware that it was a dream, but part convinced that it was simply the town I was in that made it feel like a dream

I went back to the station, but couldn't come through the checkpoints or security or whatever because I was missing a ticket or some sort of ID

I started asking people for help, for someone to give me a ride or point me to the nearest station

I started getting desperate, feeling like I'd be too late to make it to where I needed to be, so I started yelling and begging for anyone to pick me up or something

Then suddenly, I see a friendly looking fella in the distance, and I rush to them, once again hoping someone would help

And holy shit it's the cutest looking dream-realm angel girl character I've seen, like
She got Angel Gabby vibes, wore a cloak with a huge collar

Her most defining trait was her pool of little miniature dragons in her neck??? Like her head was floating above her body Rayman style, but the collar of her cloak functioned as a little bowl for her little dragons to chill in

She decided to help me, letting me hold onto her as she flew to where I needed to be

Eventually, I was brought to my destination, which looked like a huge glass dome where a bunch of people lived, I was probably planning on visiting someone here

After some dialogue, it was revealed that this dome was  REAL LIFE??? like the waking world, separate from the dream town I was in

Angel girl was happy to have helped, but she started to feel not so good and started to fade after realizing people around her didn't remember/recognize her, cause apparently dreams/dream characters can only exist when you know they do. That or she just can't be outside her dream town for too long

It was bittersweet, having to say goodbye while she was dying or something, but I made sure to study her appearance close enough for me to remember how to draw her when I wake up

And then I woke up

Update: She looked like this and I love her

I picked up my tablet again after nearly two months a few days ago and I thought it would be fun to draw a little anthropomorphized car...

I ended up liking them a lot x3

Last Monday I dreamt I had hacked into the police radio and left the walkie talkie hidden to throw them off my tail. I started making my way back home, but stopped in a lady's garden to recuperate before continuing on. She had a jar of honey outside, and I had some of it as I stayed hidden, but she eventually walked outside and started screaming, and I immediately calmed her down, saying I had stopped there for the shade. She responded by saying that it was pretty common for "LARPers" to stop by, I asked if it was okay if I had some of the honey and she agreed.

Despite the fact I have not posted updates to the drawpile thread, I'm still hosting them with the same frequency, and at the same time, even if nobody gets notified for them. I've actually had a big session this last Sunday. I don't want these sessions to stop.

Despite the nuclear end to the Discord server, I'm still around, racc.at is still around, and the forums are still around, for as long as I can keep them up.

You can still reach me through all the same means. I haven't been doing the best mentally, but keeping myself isolated will not help.

Threads in these forums have thousands of views, and that's despite the fact that there has been zero activity since last year. This place is flooded with scrapers (but at least there is no spam.)

I need to figure out how to use stuff like Fail2Ban, I guess. I'm not necessarily a fan of all these inflated numbers on the very much dead forums.

This is mine! Just a basic Plasma desktop with a few extra widgets on the main panel. I try to keep my setup clean because too many icons overwhelm me, so I have nothing on the desktop itself, just a few shortcuts on the task bar. Most of my app launching is done through the "Start menu," because using Linux, I actually have a functional search.

The wallpaper I use is art drawn by Gren

Show off your desktop, your home screen, or whatever else you land onto whenever you start using your preferred device.
