Title: Starting to lose a little momentum
Post by: Kett on Jul 16, 2023, 11:18 PM
The forums are starting to lose that initial spark, I do want it to continue being a hub for us to interact and share our art, projects and interests, but I'm not quite sure how to attract and keep users around. We already have a significant percentage of users who have never posted a single time.

I think I'm going to have to put a lot more work in so it interests users, I just don't know what that work should be.

A big thing for me that prevents me from using this often is my lack of knowledge on forums in general.
Also the lack of ease of use that things like discord have, being a separate program that can be open in background to check and see notifs. Also navigation. I dont think this is trying to go for the same vibe of something like a discord though, so im not sure what to recommend. It just feels more "professional'? so less inclined to just post things without putting proper thought into it all.

Nothing wrong with putting thought behind what you post though, I think that's a good thing  ;)

Plus, I don't think having to install a whole different app for it is easier than... keeping a tab open.

it's mostly just the nature of forums and navigation for me.
I have nothing to post in a forum format and the effort further leaves me silent.
The navigation throughout the site is fine if you're used to clicking a broad topic then searching within for a post within that topic but often i dont know what im clicking into when i scroll. That's not entirely the fault of the layout, as people could just title things informatively, but a form of preview could help.
I'm sure i could grow more accustomed to the forum layout in time, but as it stands for me personally right now, I'm put off from interacting with it more as im not entirely comfortable with forums.
